CNC Plasma Cutting and Drilling Machine

The Knuth CNC plasma cutting and drilling machine is equipped with the following:

Plasma, drilling, and 3D beveling cutting, and AsperWin-Nesting module, AsperWin-Beveling module and
  Plasma HPR260.

It has a dual tool station, namely plasma and drilling tools stations. This implies that the machine reduces the material handling time and process stages which were created by both Profile and Trumpf machines by moving parts to marking, radial drilling and grinding after cutting and drilling.

The CNC plasma cutting and drilling machine is equipped with a drilling tool station for drilling up to 30 mm, tapping up to 20 mm and beveling tool station for bevel cutting up to 45 degrees. The beveling tool station has a 5-axes cutting torch support that is designed for full automatic bevel cutting. This configuration comprises tools stations with rotating cutting heads enabling torch beveling during the cutting process. HyPerformance Plasma cuts, bevels, and marks a variety of metals, thick and thin; making one system that does it all.

The system is also equipped with a AsperWin-Nesting and AsperWin-Bevel Cutting module. AsperWin-Nesting module enables an effective creation of nests with big number of different cut parts. The programmer creates list of cut parts that need to be cut out and specifies the list of plates. Sheet can be empty rectangles, shape imported from a dxf-file or a partially nested plan can be used (incremental nesting). The nesting task is to make a new list of parts that must be placed on sheets and list of available sheets.

AsperWin-Bevel Cutting module supports 3 methods of starting of the beveled cut which can be chosen to best fit custom application: piercing with angle, tilting of torch after piercing at piercing point and tilting of torch during initial part of lead-in. By means of "Bevel ATHC expert" the module can select and parameterize appropriate torch height control methods for individual parts or group of parts according to their size and shape. Besides simple beveled edges Y-cuts are also supported.

The CNC plasma cutting and drilling machine with HyPerformance is capable of cutting stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. It also produces a virtually dross-free cutting from gauge to 32 mm, can cut maximum thickness up to 65 mm and bevel cutting up to 45 degrees. It can also do marking and cutting with the same consumables.
